Preparation of Application
Prepare the prescribed copyright registration application form (available from IPO-Pakistan). Ensure all details of the applicant, author, and nature of the work are accurately mentioned.
Submission of Required Documents
Attach the following documents:
Copies of the original work (e.g., manuscript, artwork, software code, etc.)
CNIC copy of the applicant
No Objection Certificate (NOC), if the applicant is different from the author
Power of Attorney (if filed through an agent or consultant)
Payment of Official Fee
Deposit the prescribed government fee in the designated bank branch and attach proof of payment with the application.
Filing of Application
Submit the complete application along with all supporting documents to the Copyright Office at IPO-Pakistan.
Examination Process
The Registrar examines the application to ensure compliance with legal requirements and may raise objections if clarification or additional documents are needed.
Publication (if required)
In certain cases, the application details may be entered into the official record for transparency and potential objections.
Issuance of Registration Certificate
If no objections are raised, or once objections are resolved, the Registrar enters the work into the Register of Copyrights and issues an official Certificate of Registration.

The process typically takes a few months, depending on whether objections arise.
